Carlos has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Neuropsychology and Education, and specialises in Equine-Assisted Learning and Coaching, as well as Family Constellations with Horses.
His first experience in this profession was in 2008, when he received training and volunteered with children and equines. After working in various educational institutions in Spain and South America, Carlos founded the EAS project in Malta, becoming the country’s first multidisciplinary team. He considers Equine Assisted Services to be a passion rather than just a profession, and sharing his experiences over the years has been both a pleasure and a vocation. Carlos believes in horses’ healing potential, and his dedication to his work is reflected in the positive impact he has on the lives of those he supports.

I was inspired to combine horses and mental health while working on my BSc dissertation. Horses have been quite helpful to me personally. They are unique sentient entities who are incredible teachers and healers, and I am very passionate about spreading this information with anyone else who may require it.
Alessia
Occupational Therapist from Italy. She combines her expertise in occupational therapy with the innovative approach of Equine-Assisted Therapy (EAT) to create meaningful interventions for children.
EAT complements Alessia’s occupational therapy practice by providing unique sensory experiences and opportunities for physical and emotional growth. The dynamic and engaging nature of working with horses allows Alessia to incorporate movement, sensory stimulation, and emotional regulation into her sessions in a natural and effective way.

Why
“equability”?
The term “equability” is derived from “equ” (horse in latin) and “ability” (ability), highlighting our focus on abilities rather than disabilities. Our goal is to support individuals to improve and value their unique skills and strengths.
Volunteers & Interns
Our volunteers, interns, and students have different backgrounds and the same motivation. Each individual plays a crucial role in supporting our work, bringing diverse perspectives and skills to the sessions.
